Early Childhood Music LessonsThere is no better way to celebrate the magical moments of a young child than through the joy of music. So many of your baby's special moments fly by so quickly. Music can enhance and magnify the joy of these magical moments through touch, sound, movement, and musical celebration. Together, you and your child can experience the true meaning of community in a musical environment. Just as important, research has shown that music study and participation from birth to age 10 can give your child the academic edge in reading, math, and other skills associated with reasoning. Without the proper stimulation, after age 10 the musical windows in the brain begin to close and musical learning can become more labored and difficult. The Music Institute is proud to offer the most comprehensive and varied Early Childhood Music curriculum in Central Kentucky!
Musikgarten® Family Music: Dance with Me!
This popular Musikgarten® class uses folk songs and nursery rhymes to help infants, toddlers and preschoolers meet important developmental milestones. This class offers what current research tells us young children need -- movement, interaction, repetition and exposure to cultural customs, presented in a playful way! Especially designed for families with more than one child, this Musikgarten® class is an opportunity for siblings to explore movement and music together. In addition to offering lots of wiggle-time, this class uses nursery rhymes and folk songs to develop imagination and creative thinking. It is a twelve-week class, so you'll see your child grow and learn so much before the end of the semester!
Musikgarten® Cycle of Seasons
A class especially designed for preschoolers, Cycle of Seasons addresses age-specific goals and musical development while teaching children to observe the world around them. There is a strong emphasis on pre-academic skills in this Musikgarten® class, including colors, letters, animals, problem-solving and imaginary play. They will play instruments and sing songs, learning musical basics as well as expanding their imaginations during story-time and creative play. The structure of music helps them to structure their own thoughts and movements, internalizing the musical concepts of rhythm and form. The 12-week session will allow plenty of time to explore instruments and new sounds! Early Childhood Faculty
